Films & Friends marked an exciting debut for MAD Dance Works, bringing together artists, creators, and dance lovers for a powerful evening of movement, film, and connection on March 27, 2025 in New York City. Founded by Macy Deppe, the event was born out of a desire to fill a gap in the dance industry—providing a platform for both emerging and established artists to share their work through the medium of film.

The night featured a curated selection of dance films from across the country, celebrating the artistry, diversity, and innovation of dance cinema. But what truly made Films & Friends special was the atmosphere—it wasn’t just a screening, it was a gathering. Artists and attendees had the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and spark new collaborations in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

As MAD Dance Works’ first official initiative, Films & Friends set the tone for a growing community committed to creativity, connection, and artistic visibility. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so memorable.
